* What is the SOM committee doing? In fact, what does SOM mean?

"Sponsor, Organize and Mentor" is the progression for chartering a new club. The Zonta Clubs of Cheyenne, Fort Collins, and Laramie are busy sponsoring a new club in Greeley CO. It has been a BIG challenge to get this off the ground but we are persevering.

The Greeley SOM committee met in Ft Collins on July 14 to rededicate ourselves to this project. We all feel that Greeley is a fertile community to support the ideals of Zonta but we have had considerable difficulty tapping into the women's culture in that area. We are still in the organization phase to get a club chartered and would definitely appreciate getting referrals from other Zontians in the District. Any interested Zontian is invited to attend the organizational meetings; it is especially nice to have someone at the meeting who is recognized by the invited ones.

This committee is co-chaired by Marcie Woolworth and Kathy Swafford of the Zonta Club of Fort Collins. Other active members of the committee include Kris Johnson (Zonta Club of Ft Collins), DeeDee Boysen and Pat Kiovsky (Zonta Club of Laramie), Bev Morrow and Jody Gostas (Zonta Club of Cheyenne) and Mary Walker (Area 2 Director). Our sponsor on the District Board is Sheila Davis (Zonta Club of Denver).
